eggs & tuna prevents brain from shrinking...

As if wrinkles weren’t bad enough, turns out our brains tend to shrivel as we age, too. Could eggs and tuna be the key to less shrinkage?

Research makes it seem so. Why? Because both tuna and eggs are good sources of vitamin B12. And B12 may help keep brain atrophy in check.

How Low Is Low?
In a 5-year study, people in their 60s and beyond who were low -- but not deficient -- on B12 were three to six times more likely to have brain atrophy than did people on the higher end of the normal B12 range. So being even a little low may be bad. Make sure you’re getting enough by taking a supplement or eating B12-rich foods -- like eggs and tuna. Use this tool to find other foods that are high in B12.

Why Bigger Is Better
Brain shrinkage is commonly seen in people with Alzheimer’s disease, and more and more research points to a connection between cognitive function and B12 levels. So that may explain the connection with brain shrinkage. B vitamins may help ward off stroke, too. Here’s how.

Finally! After months in hibernation!

Im Back!!! damn! Did I miss something? I had the busiest months ever!!December & January rules!!! Bye 2008, it was nice knowing you! Hello 2008, make me richer!!! bwahahaha... New year, new love & new job! ugh! Right now, I've passed CCT training (w/c was really scary) and now, I'm trying to pass PST.. Honestly, I wasn't confident in passing the CCT... Why? Not because I can't speak up, but am I qualified for the company's standard. I'm with Convergys now, and no matter how hard I try to assure myself that I can do it coz I have the experience, still, alot of times I proved myself unworthy of being in the call center business.. hehehe... Anyways, Last Wednesday, January 7 (i think), we had our final mock call... damn! ii (Iris) was really2 nervous & she's contagious.. hehehe... We had 100% for that mock call & I got 95% overall rating out of 100.. yey!!! I was 2nd in class... Ask me why I'm not 1st... hehehe... coz i sucked in our oral....ask me again.... coz I wasn't able to sleep because of anxiety... grabeh!!! but it was OK... Out of 20 people, 3 people left the WAVE 166B.... Jerome, the funny guy (and a really good friend) Lloyd aka Lloydy, the history teacher and Chris aka cristo, the secret millionaire... hehehe... I miz those guys.. It's hard when they became my routine in 2 weeks... ugh! Still, we communicate & we're still friends... I like my company now because I feel really challenge with the job and the people are really nice... they are human, they don't act as if they're superhuman or the virgins... wow!!! I thought CVG people would all be snobs & social climbers... damn! usa nq nla! It's not that I don't like my previous company but I feel like I've really upgraded!! I appreciate the trainings from PS and even if I didn't like my experience with Supportsave, still, I thank them for making me realize that I should only love my job & not the company!!! Anyways, after crying for sometime, we took pix with our pretty trainer, Tanya Chica.. She's strict & firm with her decisions yet, I know deep inside, she also wished for miracles to happen.. Tanya, thank you! I miz her being chikadora & praning.... Now, we have Maria Rizza Colina aka Rizza to amuse us... I also love her! She's really good & still remain human despite her position... Here are some of the pix.... PS: Batch 166 is composed of A & B. I belong to be & a lot of people notice that our batch have the beauty w/ brains chix.... It's for you to judge... hell yeah!!! Give me a year with Sprint! God bless us!

Wave 166B lines:
"yayaya Ma'am" - Jerome
"American movies rock my world!" - Meh
"Basically......" -Jeno
"Actually......." -Flora Mae
"........because........" (speaking in vernacular then the trainer comes in then changes to english starting w/ "because") (caught a couple of times! hehe) - Flora Mae aka Katrina Halili

Christmas is the time to be kind & warm to those who are less in life and I believe that Xmas is the best excuse to give yourself a gift.. Yesterday, we found out that my Dad (who is still stuck in Bahrain due to fear of pirate attack) won't be coming home for Xmas, so, me & mAh decided to shop (ehem... for the house decors) and spend loquaciously on gifts (plus, it was a one-day sale @ SM). We bought gifts for the kiddies & inaanaks plus new christmas decors. Our problem in buying decors is that me & mAh's taste in fashion is way different.. She likes the classic (that soon looks dull & old) & i like the combination of the new ones & classic... She likes colorful Xmas decors but I like the decors to be a fusion of two colors that doesn't look chaotic. Anyways, we're done with that & it's always her decision that matters, although she asks for my opinion. hmp! After all the stress (in shopping...& arguing what colors to match) I felt like I need to sit down & just stare at the floor for minutes just to relax my sore feet & eyes.. mAh decided to have a facial treatment, I agreed... totally! I'd be crazy enough to decline the offer! When we were in the Forever Flawless Center, I just can't wait to get a face fix! hahaha... My mAh's "suki" attendant was Gwen & mine's Menz.. I had the acne control treatment while mAh had the age-defying one..amazing! It took more than 2 hours to fix my face (imagine the impurities, blackheads & whiteheads!!!) and after the oxygenation mask, i feel like 18 again! char! I wouldn't deny that the treatment is s0o0o damn effective since my mAH's face is on the way to recovery from chemical burns (she got it using different products in the market considering she has sensitive skin). Menz (my attendant) advised me to use the acne control kit (worth 1000) consisting of SAS soap (that smells like ripe guava), skin refiner, oil control lotion, whitening lotion, sunblock ointment, & toner. I also este... mAh also purchased an oil-control powder that can be used even without cleansing your skin..Next session, IL be on an oil-control facial & treatment.. bongga! Another 3000 just for my treatment! Anyways, I wanna get rid of my acne so I have to go with the program.. Hahaay... Last thing, I told Iris it wasn't painful but I lied! It was torture!!! The blackheads in my nose area was cleared up but it's (my nose) still sore! Thanks Menz & Gwen!! You girls did a good job! Till next month! ;)

my patron saint....

"If you have men who will exclude any of God’s creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow men."-–St. Francis of Assisi.

Francis loved everyone and everything. He has been called “alter Christus” or other Christ and with good reason.

I admire this great man although I am a muslim,Muslims are taught that any good advice or learning should be accepted as valid regardless of where it comes from.I seek Knowledge.

Every Muslim man's and every Muslim woman's prayer should be:"My Lord! Enrich me with knowledge.." (Quran, 20:114)

I am sure that we have all come across people, who know very little and they understand even less; yet they think that they know everything. Remember, "Empty vessels make the most noise."

In the words of the great poet Alexander Pope: " A little knowledge is a dangerous thing; Drink deep, or drink not from the Pyrenean Spring; whereby a little intoxicates the brain, and only drinking largely sobers it again".

The only cure for getting drunk on a tiny bit of knowledge, is to consume heavy doses of even more useful knowledge, so that understanding can develop and wisdom can lead to real enlightenment.

Prophet Muhammad [pbuh] said: "Seek knowledge, from the cradle to the grave; seek knowledge, even unto China."(Narrated by Anas,Ibnu umar and many others - Hadith HASAN MASHHUR, Wallahu Taala Alam wa Ahkam.)

As we grow physically from youth to maturity, so also must we grow emotionally, intellectually and spiritually. Our advancing years should reflect some growing wisdom and understanding of life.

I know that my thirst for knowledge is as essential as water to a plant.

As life goes full circle from womb to tomb, the happiest people in the world are still growing with minds more fertile than ever, as they draw their last breath, knowing that we humans have more than one dimension and:

"You're either green and growing or ripe and rotting."

Abu Rayhan al-Biruni was a great scientist, physicist, astronomer, sociologist, linguist, historian and mathematician whose true worth may never be known. He is considered the father of unified field theory by Nobel Laureate - late Professor Abdus Salam. He lived nearly a thousand years ago and was a contemporary of Ibnu Sina (Avicenna) and Sultan Mahmoud of Ghazni.

When he was on his deathbed, Biruni was visited by a jurisprudent neighbor of his. Abu Rayhan was still conscious and on seeing the jurisprudent, he asked him a question on inheritance law or some other related issue. The jurisprudent was quite amazed that a dying man should show interest in such matters.

Abu Rayhan said, “I should like to ask you: which is better, to die with knowledge or to die without it?”

The man said, “Of course, it is better to know and then die.”

Abu Rayhan said, “That is why I asked my first question.”

Shortly after the jurisprudent had reached his home, the cries of lamentation told him that Abu Rayhan had died.

Francis of Assisi is not for everyone. Even many saints would not be comfortable with Francis. He appeals primarily to the heart. He would never be accused of being lukewarm, for he lived his life afire. Francis found God in real life. He led a life of radical devotion to God and to service of other people, especially poor people.

He was always drawn to life, to the preciousness of the everyday. He shunned intellectualizing and instead looked for God in the flesh, in the earth, and in simple things. He preferred to pray with his feet, with his hands, and with his voice raised in song.

Francis often is credited with the St. Francis Prayer and though it is one of my favorites.

“May God bless you with discomfort at easy answers, half truths, and superficial relationships, so that you may live deep within your heart.

May God bless you with anger at injustice, oppression and exploitation of people, so that you may work for justice, freedom and peace.

May God bless you with tears to shed for those who suffer from pain, rejection, starvation, and war, so that you may reach out your hand to comfort them and turn their pain to joy.

And may God bless you with enough foolishness to believe that you can make a difference in this world, so that you can do what others claim cannot be done.

Amen.”

Check this out...this may give you one opportunity to laugh...
Ever wondered how a HR Manager could write a love letter to his girlfriend ??

To,
Juliet

Sub: Offer of love!
Ref: Meeting in coffee shop

Dearest Ms Juliet,

I am pleased to inform you that I have fallen in Love with you since the 14th of October (Saturday).

With reference to the meeting held between us on the 13th of Oct. at 1500 hrs, would like to present myself as a prospective lover.

Our love affair would be on probation for a period of three months and depending on compatibility, would be made permanent. Of course, upon completion of probation, there will be continuous on the job training and performance appraisal schemes leading up to promotion from lover to spouse.

The expenses incurred for coffee and entertainment would initially be shared equally between us. Later, based on your performance, I might take up a larger share of the expenses. However I am broadminded enough to be taken care of, on your expense account.

I request you to kindly respond within 30 days of receiving this letter, failing which, this offer would be cancelled without further notice and I shall be considering someone else.

I would be happy, if you could forward this letter to your sister, if you do not wish to take up this offer.

Wish you all the best!

Thanking you in anticipation,

Yours sincerely,

HR Manager
